Breakfast, lunch/dinner & dessert!
OK, here we go!
I have some recipes for you. Some I have tried, others I have not. Please let me know when you try them and lets decide if they are keepers or not!
Let us start with breakfast:
Breakfast Banana Split
2 Bananas, sliced in half length wise, then each half cut in half ( you will have 8 pieces total)
1 8oz. container of yogurt, any flavor
8 Tablespoons of strawberry or blueberry pie filling ( or both)
8 Tablespoons of crushed pineapple
8 Tablespoons of granola ( recipe follows) ( or use nature valley granola bars)
This recipe serves 4 people.
In a small bowl, add 2 pieces of banana.
Place a dollop of yogurt over the bananas.
Put 2 tablespoons of pie filling over yogurt in each bowl.
Then add 2 tablespoons of pineapple over the pie filling.
Finish each bowl with 2 tablespoons of granola.
I have made these before and they were very tasty and healthy! (Well, healthier)
Let me know what you think of this recipe and let me know if you try it out!
12 Cups quick oats ( not instant)
1 1/2 Cups flakes, sweet coconut
1 1/2 Cup nuts
2 Cups honey
2/3 Cup oil
1 Teaspoon Vanilla extract
2 Cups raisins
Heat over to 350*
In a large bowl combine, oats, coconut and nuts. Mix well.
In another bowl combine, honey, oil & vanilla. Pour over oat mixture. Stir to coat.
Place on 2 foil lined cookie sheets and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Let cool and place in an air-tight container to store.
I have made this as well. It is great fro a snack and I ate it as cereal with milk!
There is way more than what the banana split recipe calls for. Get creative and enjoy!
I stored my in a zip top plastic bag for a couple of months.
Lunch / Dinner:
Ham & Cheese Bread
1 Tube of refrigerated pizza dough
4-8 Slices of deli ham (sliced thin)
1 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 Cup mayo
Preheat oven to 350*.
Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface in to a rectangle, about 12 x 8 in size.
Place ham slices over the dough, leaving about a 1 inch border around the sides.
Mix cheese with mayo in a bowl. Then, spread it over the ham.
Roll up the stuffed dough.
Place on baking sheet, seem side down.
Cut slits on top layer of dough.
Brush with milk and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
I have also made this before. But, for some reason, I left out the mayo and it still came out very tasty!
1 Cup chopped pecans
1/2 Cup butter or margarine, melted
1 Package yellow cake mix
1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, regular
1 16 oz. package powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 325*.
Line 13 x 9 baking pan with no-stick foil.
Stir together nuts, butter, 1 egg and cake mix.
Place into bottom of the pan & set aside.
Combine 2 eggs, cheese & sugar, beat with mixer until smooth.
Pour over cake layer in pan.
Bake for about 40 minutes or until set.
Cool & cut into squares.
I have not tried this recipe, but it caught my eye. It looks easy and yummy! I guess it is time for me to try it out, huh?
