Bunnies!

I'm Baaack! I know I have been MIA for several days!

Last night I went walking with my friend who happens to also live in my cul de sac (sounds like I own the street, doesn't it?). I take my cell phone with us while we walk, mainly for a program I have on it that tells us how fast we walk and how far we have gone.

As I approached her house, there was an "angel bunny" sitting right in her driveway. We call them angel bunnies and I'm honetsly not sure why...I'm going to have to look into that :)

So, I crept up to it as slowly and quietly as I could and.............. it attacked me! Just kidding :P and.... I took a picture of it!

Corned Beef

Two weeks ago I had corned beef spread for the first time in my life! I do live in North Carolina but I am from New Jersey. Up there, I never heard of corned beef. I never heard of grits until I moved to NC for that matter either.

A good friend of mine who has lived in NC her entire life, made this corned beef spread for me for lunch. I really liked it! I generally do not eat beef but this tasted good! Usually if I eat beef it bothers my stomach but this did not.

So, last week I made this sandwich spread for my family and they liked it too! Now, I am sharing it with you!

Dessert!

Hello! I have been away for a few days...sorry about that...regrouping :)

Last night we went out to dinner for my friends Birthday. She chose Carinos. I really enjoyed the food. I have to say my my favorite part was the bread at the beginning of the meal and the dessert at the end!

I got the Italian chocolate cake with ice cream and my friend got the turtle cheesecake. Both were fabulous! The cheesecake was so creamy it blew the Cheesecake Factory out of the water!

Frozen Fruit Pie recipe!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! I got to take a nice, long nap yesterday afternoon...2 hours! Needless to say, I am feeling quite refreshed today!

My friend Tia gave me this recipe for Frozen Fruit Pie. It is super easy to make! My thoughts are: This is a great pie to make during the spring and summer. So, now is the time to give it a try!

Frozen Fruit Pie Recipe

Often on Sunday evenings I make breakfast for dinner. Last night was no exception. I tried something different and it tuned out to be a hit! I has some banana bread still sitting on the counter. So, I sliced it and made French toast with it. So, last night we had chocolate chip banana bread French toast, fried ham and eggs with cheese. My boys were happy!

A sweet tooth!

Does anyone else have a sweet tooth like me? I was having a heck of a day yesterday and if you know me, you know that baking is therapeutic for me. So, I decided to try an new recipe... Applebee's Maple Blondie!
The Food Network magazine had the recipe in it a couple of months ago and I just got around to trying it out. Just as the Bang Bang Shrimp was wonderful, so was the blondie! It was not too sweet and as for a brownie it was not overly dense or uncooked in the middle. I have to say they hit it spot on!
I will be posting the recipe soon as well as my mistakes and improvisions :) (Is that even a word???)

Lesson learned: If having a rough day, bake something sweet then eat a HUGE hunk of it with your family!

(wait until the next post with the blondie story...you will get to see the finished photo of the blondie covered in the maple caramel syrup and ice cream!)

Peanut Butter Cup Bar recipe

Hello! How was your Easter? Did you get enough ham and boiled eggs to eat? We did! My son and I colored eggs and by that night after all the pictures of them were taken, we were eating them up! I made stuffed eggs and they were so good! I like to add a dab of mustard to my filling for a little zip.
After Church on Sunday we went to Cracker Barrel with friends for breakfast. They serve the best pancakes EVER!
After that we came home to change our clothes then went to the park for the day with the same group of friends. We played a mean game of kickball and due to my lack of hydration in the hot sun, my legs still feel like boat anchors! Ugghhhh! It was worth it though...I got a great workout!

I made a batch of homemade Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Bars and Strawberry Oat Bars to give out to my neighbors. I have to say The Peanut Butter Cup Bars came out fabulous! Here is the recipe for you to try: Peanut Butter Cup Bar Recipe

Twinkle Twinkle Christmas Star: novel

I have been working on getting a website up for my novel, "Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star". I used Google's free website through Google sites.
Last night I finished getting it ready for the world!
I am actively searching for and agent and/or publisher for this fiction novel. As I search, I am working on the sequel, "Welcome Ya'll".
